Our CHURCH STORY

PHASE #1

Freshwater Church began as a small Bible study in a home with just six people. As the group grew, it moved into a local high school and eventually transitioned from midweek gatherings to Sunday worship services.

From the very beginning, missions have been at the heart of Freshwater—serving our local Jefferson City community while also reaching people around the world in places like Iowa, Mexico, London, and Guatemala.

IT STARTED WITH SIX PEOPLE.

PHASE #2

As Freshwater continued to grow, the church moved from temporary meeting spaces into a renovated warehouse and eventually purchased property for a permanent home. During this season, Freshwater expanded its leadership team, added staff, installed deacons, and continued to flourish in outreach and discipleship.

After a natural disaster required another temporary relocation, the church pressed forward, continuing construction on its permanent home. Freshwater opened the doors to its new building in 2020 and continued to grow in ministry through challenging seasons. When staffing transitions occurred, elders faithfully stepped in to lead until new pastors were called and the leadership team expanded once again.

PHASE #3

Freshwater launched Love|JC, a movement focused on loving and serving the Jefferson City community in tangible ways. Through partnerships with local schools and large-scale outreach events—including a celebration of the church’s anniversary—Love|JC has made a meaningful impact across the city.

Today, Freshwater continues to grow, expand its facilities, and pursue its mission of advancing the Gospel and making a lasting kingdom impact in Jefferson City and beyond.
